Willing Individuals, serving hearts, can’t lose

Four weeks, four teams, one wall! The last four weeks has been a flurry of teams from all across the US ranging from the Southeast to the Southwest. Kicking it off was a team from Crossroads Church in Wauseon, OH. Next came teams from Roanoke, VA and Hickory/Greenville, NC. These teams kept plugging along the South Wall by pouring footer, tying rebar, and laying block. It’s amazing to see the progress of this wall after two and half months of teams!

The fourth and final team of this stretch was a little unique. We had a team of five students and professors from Clemson University who came down with a VIMM (Volunteer in Medical Missions) team. Joining them for half the week was a team of teachers and administrators from the Phoenix, AZ area. These teachers jumped right in with the Clemson guys making rebar cages and slinging mud!

This group shows that you don’t need to be a contractor, engineer or weightlifter to come serve in San Juan (or anywhere for that matter) for a week. All we ask for are willing and serving hearts(hence the Friday Night Lights blog title reference…), which this team definitely had. During their week long Spring Break they could have gone to the beach or relaxed at home. They could have chosen to sit in the cabana during their planning time in between their workshops at our sponsor schools. Instead, they threw on their gloves (and LOTS of suncreen!) and served on the REVOLUTION project! Will you do the same? I encourage ANYONE reading this blog to visit our website and get involved in our ministry.
