Opening Day and Important Needs

The Christian Clinic for Integral Health officially opened its doors for the public at its new location on Tuesday, November 21st. The month of November marks exactly 34 years that the clinic has been serving patients in San Juan de la Maguana, giving extra special meaning to the November 15th inauguration ceremony and opening day following shortly after. The clinic’s opening drew attention from both local and national news stations, and support was shown through the attendance of various public figures, including the governor of the province of San Juan. Several videos have been uploaded to SRI Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as a photo album from the inauguration event.

Patients waiting to be attended to in the new clinic

This is a historic moment in time for the clinic, and we hope you feel encouraged by all that has been accomplished and all that lies ahead. As the year comes to a close, and you and your church/organization begin to think about year-end donations and prepare next year’s budget, we ask that you please consider supporting the Christian Clinic for Integral Health with the two needs presented below.

Even though Public Health has been very supportive and positive during the transition into the new facility, both clinic leadership and SRI expected there to be some changes required that could potentially be costly. The most significant item that has come up is the X-ray machine. The Commission of Energy and Public Health has deemed it appropriate only for a level two certification, and is requiring a different X-ray machine to obtain the vital level three status. Without level three certification, the clinic would be unable to open the hospitalization portion of the clinic (Emergency Room, ICU, NICU, etc). The clinic and SRI are working as quickly as possible to get the clinic operational at level three. To do so, the current X-ray machine will be sold and a new machine will be purchased to meet the standards presented. After a discount and tax exoneration, the new machine will cost an estimated US$108,000. Are you able to help with this urgent need?

In addition to the X-ray need, SRI is attempting to raise funding to cover the expenses of a more modern, computer-based management system to help provide the utmost level of patient care. SRI would like to assist with this upgrade, with the goal of raising $200,000 to cover the cost of necessary hardware and software. Would you join us in helping with this important need?

Thank you for your consideration of coming alongside the clinic during this exciting stage with these two urgent needs. Please keep in mind that because of the financial health of SRI, 100% of donations go directly to clinic support with zero administrative fees removed. Your faithfulness continues to make a significant difference in the lives of the needy in the Dominican Republic. Thank you once again for your support!
