Can you picture it?  A place that is both the first choice for those with means and the only chance for the poor. A place out of the flood plain where over 20 years of healthcare will continue to be provided. A place where all who enter encounter the love of Christ through the staff and volunteers. A place where patients are treated with dignity and respect. A place where the most basic human needs are met so that a population can not just survive but thrive. This is the clinic we imagine. This is the clinic we dream of. This is the clinic we pray for. What about you? Have you caught this vision for the future?

Each week, Guesthouse Administrator, Dan, continues to share the REVOLUTION project with teams out on the new clinic land before they head to Bienvenida’s restaurant to enjoy a delicious Dominican meal. Dan also shares that in order to reach our goal of seeing this vision of a clinic become reality, a big need at this point is funding to complete the project. Did you know that if everyone who came to serve at the guesthouse over the course of one year gave just $1/day for three years, we would actually surpass the project budget? Do you want to do more than just read about construction? Do you have the itch to get your hands dirty in the Dominican sunshine? We currently have a HUGE NEED for construction volunteers!

For the first time ever, we are attempting to fill a week with 15 available volunteers from ANYWHERE to come work on the new clinic construction during the week of September 26th – October 3rd 2015. This is the perfect way to participate for those who do not have a local team they are able to join or lead! The SRI Facebook page has been full of recent blogs, photos, and videos the Paramedic Education Program! We are so excited about this program and the way that is going to change the future of healthcare in San Juan and beyond! Most recently, the students were able to showcase their new skills in a mock trauma scenario. Take a look at the photo album and video from this exciting day to see how things went!

PRAY – We covet your prayers for this project! Pray for the safety of construction teams on the job site and for our ongoing financial needs to complete the budget. Pray for the lives that will be touched for years to come and ask that God will use the clinic as an incredible tool to reach and help the lost in the San Juan region.
