No, no, no, not the confederacy…the construction of the southern perimeter wall of the REVOLUTION clinic is set to commence in just 3 days! Randy, Ken and I have ordered materials and prepped the southern property line for the first construction group of the year (Faith in Action). Now, I know this next bit of news will disappoint many of you, but this week a few Dominicans were hired to dig holes about halfway down the property line…I know, I know, bummer, right?
The days of digging are done…for now ( :
Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of work to be done. Rebar columns need to be made and set, and the footer will still be made and poured by teams. Also, the front (highway) side of the property will get a temporary metal fence to provide a barrier for the construction site. Work on that will start this week as well.
In other news, for the time being, Randy will be taking over many of my “Construction Coordinator” responsibilities as Kamanda and I fill in for Dan and Kari during their six month sabbatical leave. Many of you are familiar with Randy and you and I both know he will do a great job keeping the groups busy as well as entertained.
Your new “jefe”, Randy!
If you missed the last couple of updates be sure to check out Ken Potter’s blog here to get the latest on the clinic construction. The slab is complete and the next step is getting it prepped for plumbing and electrical. Also, check back in the next couple weeks here to see pics of the 2016 groups in action. Hope to see many of you in person this year! Let’s go to work!
