The blood bank has continued to be a great partnership between Solid Rock International staff, volunteers and CCSI! Our goal is to have 50 pints of blood donated by the end of 2024. Currently 44 pints have been donated.

CCSI has an agreement with the public hospital to be able to trade for different blood types based on emergency situations. In the past month there was a bus accident in the public transport system in the southern region of the Dominican Republic, and the clinic was able to provide 16 pints of blood to the patients in need.

Requirements to donate in the Dominican Republic:

• Current identification
• Between the ages of 18-65 years
• Weigh atleast 110 pounds
• Eaten prior to donation
• Drank water prior to donation
• Has not had Hepatitis after age 10
• Healthy (does not have the flu, cold or a fever)
• Have not smoke or drank in the previous 24 hours before donation
• Have not received piercings, tattoos, or acupuncture in the last year
