What a great month April has been for the REVOLUTION clinic project! A lot of changes have been taking place on the worksite and we hope you’ve enjoyed following along!
Our onsite staff have done a great job of keeping us posted on the work being accomplished at the land. Ken, our Project Construction Manager, regularly updates his blog with photos, videos, and stories of his involvement with the project construction. And Jeff, the Project Coordinator, helps keep the American volunteer teams organized and provides a mid-month update to this blog (see his latest post here). The SRI Facebook page is full of daily updates on the project and other SRI programs. Please continue to check the construction photo album for the most recent photos from the worksite!

The fill and compaction phase is complete! While it may not look like much in a photo, the land has been completely transformed from a soggy field to a firm and elevated base for construction. It’s hard not to think of our name, Solid Rock, and the beautiful words from Matthew 7:24-25. We hope this firm foundation for the new building can serve as a physical representation of this verse, reminding us of our history as well as our hope for the future:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
As construction continues, so does the fundraising to complete the project budget! See our most recent totals below as of 04/30/15:
The remaining funds might look like a lot, but with enough people involved on a basic level we can easily do this! We hope YOU will join our $1/day campaign and help us reach our goal! If everyone who came to serve at the guesthouse over the course of one year gave just $1/day for three years, we would actually surpass the project budget! You can start your $1/day pledge today by clicking here, calling us at 419-956-4077, or sending a check to PO Box 20867, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
Besides finances, there are many ways you can get involved! Please consider the following options for how you can make a difference:
- PRAY – We covet your prayers for this project! Pray for the safety of construction teams on the job site and for our ongoing financial needs to complete the budget. Pray for the lives that will be touched for years to come and ask that God will use the clinic as an incredible tool to reach and help the lost in the San Juan region.
- SERVE – Join a construction team! Lead a construction team! We have a great need for laborers right now and would love to have you and your friends, family, church, and co-workers get some hands-on involvement! Learn more about the mission experience HERE!
- SHARE – Help spread the word! If you believe in the importance of the REVOLUTION, please share it with your friends and family! Social media is a great way to do this. Please “Like” and share the Solid Rock International Facebook posts and pictures to help spread awareness to as many as possible! Learn about the Race for a REVOLUTION and participate in a race in your area with friends!
- GIVE – Consider how you and your family can sacrificially give financially to the project in the form of a one-time donation or pledge to help us complete the project budget! You can give online, over the phone (419-956-4077), or by sending a check to: SOLID ROCK INTERNATIONAL, PO Box 20867, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
Thanks for your continued support and for following along on this amazing journey to better healthcare in the Dominican Republic!
