In the early 1990s, malnutrition affected half of all children in the communities surrounding the Christian Clinic for Integral Health in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic. To address this widespread issue, the clinic created what is now called the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) to help recover malnourished children and offer health education for their families. After seeing great improvement in the San Juan area, the CNP is now headquartered in the town of El Cercado, where there are still many malnourished children in need of care. Please take a moment to learn more about the program from Clinic Director, Dr. Odette Canario in the video below.
Just last month, SRI promoted CNP Support Week in order to raise awareness and support for the program via prayer, donations of needed items, and funds. Please watch for an update coming later this week on social media! More information about the CNP can be found on our website.
